Srinagar: Former Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain held a roadshow while campaigning for its part candidate during the District Development Council (DDC) elections at a village in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.

The senior BJP leader also addressed a gathering at village Wullerhama in Anantnag and asserted that his party stands for dynasty-free politics, development for all and corruption-free J&K.

“Mr. Hussain on Saturday visited Srigufwara and Wullerhama in Anantnag for election campaigning accompanied by State Vice president Sofi Yousuf and State Spokesperson Dr Draksha Andrabhi. The BJP leader held a roadshow from Srigufwara to Wullerhama. He later addressed a gathering at Wullerhama,” a BJP spokesperson said.

Addressing the gathering, Hussain said he is overwhelmed by the reception of the public. “People of Kashmir are in full support of BJP as they know development is the only way forward for Kashmir. BJP is the only party that can deliver best governance,” he said.

He alleged that for decades Kashmir has been thrown in the darkest era by ‘Gupakar Gang’ leaders, who have looted resources of the valley. “Now they have formed Gupkar Gang to save themselves and their wrongdoings,” he said.

He said BJP has come in this DDC election with a vision of developing J-K as a model state like Gujarat. “For us, DDC stands for dynasty free politics, development for all and corruption-free J-K,” he added.
