The forest division on Wednesday retrieved around 28 kanals of forest land, which was occupied by the locals and cultivators at the forest division in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Unidentified officials of the department told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that on the directions of DFO Ganderbal Forest Division, Owais Farooq, the team from Forest (Territorial) and Forest Protection Force (FPF) carried out an eviction drive in Compartment 17/Mbl in which 28 Kanals of forest land was evicted from eight recorded encroachers.
Meanwhile, DFO Sindh Forest Division Owais Farooq while talking to the media persons appealed to people to desist from encroaching on forest land, adding that such drives will continue in the future as well. (KNO)
