Demanding the release of pending salary as per the 7th pay commission, the All Jammu and Kashmir Forest Corporation Employees Union staged a protest in Srinagar on Saturday.

The protesting employees assembled in the capital city’s Press Enclave, under the banner All Jammu and Kashmir Forest Corporation Employees Union, holding placards that read: “Release four month salary”, “We Want Justice”, and “We Want 7th Pay Commission”.

Talking to The Kashmir Walla, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, the president of the union, said: “The employees are facing many problems as our salaries have not been released since four months by the government.” He added that the daily wagers, who have been working for twenty-five years in the department, have also not been regularized.

Requesting Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, to look into the matter, the president said, “If our issues are not resolved in ten days, we will stage a protest in front of Raj Bhawan on 16 December.”
