Srinagar: The 65-year-old businessman, who was the first person in Kashmir to succumb of COVID-19, was laid to rest in north Kashmir’s Sopore town of Baramulla district.
According to reports, at least twenty-five persons were allowed to participate in funeral prayers of the deceased which took place at his native village in Sopore near Guru petrol pump.
Reports said that the deceased developed symptoms of pneumonia as soon as he returned from Delhi where he had attended a Tableegi Jamaat meeting. He is survived by three.

Till this report was filed, there were at least eight postive cass of the novel coronavirus in Kashmir Valley.
