After remaining completely defunct for an entire day on Saturday, the Jammu and Kashmir Bank’s mobile banking app was restored on Sunday.

The Bank had said that the app was facing some ‘technical issues’ as a result of which the mobile banking app was not accessible leaving customers high and dry in Kashmir ahead of Eid.

On Saturday, there was an outrage by scores of J-K Bank customers who complained of facing inconvenience due to the inaccessible mPay.

J-K Bank consumers across the valley had alleged that it has become a normal for the digital mPAY app to get non-operational ahead of festivals like Eid-ul-Fitr and others, leading to huge inconvenience to people.

J-K Bank Public Relations Officer (PRO) Aijaz Ahmad Zargar had said that Bank’s digital app is functioning smoothly. “The mPAY is smoothly functioning from Jio and other cellular networks, while only hiccups are taking place on the Airtel network”, he had said.

J-K Bank’s Auto-Mated Teller Machine (ATM) booths, at various places, witnessed similar scenes as the service was out of service too leaving customers fuming aged of Edi.

Meanwhile, the bank officials had said that they are working to upgrade the facility.

However, the service was restored on Sunday brining relief to the customers.
