At least a dozen sheep died and several went missing after a cloudburst hit Mathindoo Larnoo forest area of Kokarnag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag, officials said on Thursday.

An official told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the cloudburst hit Mathindoo Larnoo area and left around a dozen sheep dead while scores of livestock were still missing.

“The livestock belonged to Sthara Shaikh son of Abdul Aziz of Lathoong Surankote and his relatives,” the official said.

Meanwhile, they appealed to the authorities to provide them compensation so that they are able to compensate the losses.

Despite several attempts, tehsildar Larnoo Imtiyaz Amin could not be reached for his comments. (KNO)
