The journalists associated with various media organizations on Tuesday walked out of the mini-secretariat in Bandipora and staged a sit-in protest against the administration for “inadequate facilities” for covering the election results, they said in a statement.

In a statement, the media group said that despite pleading with the authorities, no arrangements were made for them.

Denouncing the treatment meted with the fraternity, the President Bandipora Journalist association president, Mohammad Syed Beigh said, “There are no proper arrangements for the media and we are being made to move from pillar to post since early morning”.

The associations of both Sumbal and Bandipora registered a strong protest against the administration, said the spokesperson. Meanwhile, President Sumbal media association Inayat Hajini said, “It is a shame and we strongly protest this attitude.” (KNO)
