DDC polls: 17.7 percent votes polled in Kashmir till 11 am; Pulwama records lowest

In the first phase of the District Development Council (DDC) elections, a sum of 22.12 percent voting was recorded across Jammu and Kashmir. 

As per the latest two-hourly voter turnout in J-K issued by the office of State Election Commissioner, reviewed by The Kashmir Walla, Pulwama district in Kashmir division recorded the lowest polling numbers of 3.51 percent till 11 am while its twin district, Shopian recorded the highest with 29.34 percent polling. 

In Srinagar, 10.64 percent voting was recorded while in 23.14 voters polled in Ganderbal by the mentioned time. In Budgam, in Central Kashmir, recorded 28.47 percent polling.

In north Kashmir, Bandipora recorded 17.87; Kupwara recorded 13.49; and in Baramulla, 12.19 percent voters polled till 11 am. In south Kashmir’s Anantnag, 23.46 percent voters turned out at the polling booths while only 14.91 percent voters reached polling booths in Kulgam.

In Kashmir division, 17.70 percent of the total votes were polled till 11 am.
