District Development Commissioner (DDC), Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Wednesday ordered action against doctors who were found absent from legitimate duties at District Hospital Bandipora.

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, a team of officers led by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh conducted a surprise inspection of various government offices to check the attendance of employees, reported a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

The team also visited District Hospital Bandipora and found two doctors absent from their legitimate duties. Deputy Commissioner immediately directed to withhold the salary of absent doctors and also issued show-cause notice to them, asking them to explain their position failing which strict action shall be taken against them.

Dr. Owais instructed all the other employees to remain punctual to their offices and warned that no laxity on their part towards their duties will be tolerated.

He said the district administration shall take tough action against absenteeism to ensure smooth functioning of government departments and prompt deliverance of services to the people. (KNO)
