India recorded 92,596 new coronavirus infections in a single day, pushing the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 29,089,069, while the deaths crossed the 3-lakh mark, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.

The death count climbed to 353,528, with 2,219 daily deaths, the data updated at 8 am showed. The active number of Covid-19 cases in the country is over 13 lakh while over 2.73 crore people have recovered from the virus.

So far, the world has reported 174.7 million Covid-19 cases since the pandemic broke with 3,762,097 deaths. The US remains the worst-hit country, followed by India, Brazil, France and Turkey.
