With the resurgence of deadly Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir, the northern belt of the valley last week reported a total of 3,668 COVID-19 positive recoveries with 24 deaths while only 3,369 were tested positive which is 1182 less than the week earlier.
The fatality rate has increased with 24 deaths compared to 21 a week before between 3-9 May in the ensuing month.
North Kashmir comprising three border districts including, Baramulla and Kupwara are showing a regular surge in positive COVID19 cases except Bandipora.
According to the figures available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the northern belt of Kashmir reported a total of 3,369 cases last week between Monday to Sunday of which 2,213 were reported from Baramulla alone followed by Kupwara with 820 cases and 12 in Bandipora. Besides, 24 deaths with 10 each from Baramulla and Kupwara while only four died due to virus in Bandipora.
Interestingly the cases in north Kashmir have started to decline in the past seven days with more recoveries than positive cases.
Figures reveal that a total of 3,668 COVID-19 positive patients have recovered from the virus across the northern belt of Kashmir of which 2,213 are alone in the Baramulla district followed by 820 recoveries in Kupwara and 635 in Bandipora in the past seven days.
It reveals that in the previous week between 3 and 9 May a total of 4,545 cases were reported in the northern belt with most of the cases from Baramulla followed by Kupwara while Bandipora has reported less number of cases compared to both districts.
Baramulla alone has reported a total of 1634 cases in the last seven days while 2,213 COVID-19 positive individuals have recovered from the virus with 10 deaths, reveal the figures.
It reveals that Kupwara reported a total of 1,023 cases while 820 positive patients have recovered from the virus in the last seven days with 10 deaths compared to five in the week earlier between 3-9 May.
About Bandipora, the data reveals that a total of 712 individuals tested positive for the virus while 635 patients have recovered with only four deaths in the last 7 days.
Compared to the week earlier, figures reveal that a total of 4,545 cases were reported in north Kashmir while 21 patients had died due to the virus.
The figure reveals that a total of 415 positive patients have died of the virus in the entire north Kashmir of which 222 are from Baramulla, 120 in Kupwara, and 74 in Bandipora.
It reveals that a total of 27,800 positive patients have recovered in the northern belt of the total 34,363 positive patients so far.
North Kashmir has a total of 6,150 active positive cases as of Sunday of which 3440 are in Baramulla followed by 1813 in Kupwara while 897 in Bandipora, reveal the figures.
The figures also reveal that a total of 415,016 people have been vaccinated against the COVID-19 across north Kashmir of which 241880 are from Baramulla, 81864 from Bandipora, and a total of 91271 from Kupwara district—(KNO)
