India witnessed a sudden increase in daily Covid-19 related deaths, as Madhya Pradesh revised its official data and recorded 1,478 deaths, taking the daily death count to 2,020 in the last 24 hours, taking the fatality count to 409,338.
The country recorded 31, 443 new coronavirus infections in a single day, lowest daily count in 118 days, pushing the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 30,907,282, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday.
The active number of Covid-19 cases in the country is 4,31, 315 while 30,063,720 people have recovered from the virus so far.
So far, the world has reported 188,136,631 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic broke with 4,057,030 deaths. The US remains the worst-hit country, followed by India, Brazil, France and Russia.
