India recorded 1.14 lakh new coronavirus infections in a single day, pushing the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 2.88 crores, while the deaths crossed the 3-lakh mark, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.
The death count climbed to 3.46 lakh. with 2,667 daily deaths, the data updated at 8 am showed. However, the count is believed to be vastly undercounted. The active number of Covid-19 cases in the country is 3.46 lakh.
So far, the world has reported 173,727,096 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic broke with 3,736,409 deaths. The US remains the worst-hit country, followed by India, Brazil, France and Turkey.
