India recorded 1,65,553 new coronavirus infections in a single day, pushing the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 2,78,94,800, while the deaths crossed the 3-lakh mark, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.
The death count climbed to 3,25,972 with 3,460 daily deaths, the data updated at 8 am showed. However, the count is believed to be vastly undercounted. The active number of Covid-19 cases in the country is 21,14,508.
The US remains the worst-hit country, followed by India, Brazil, France and Turkey.
