India recorded 853 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the fatality count to 4,00,312.
The country recorded 46,617 new coronavirus infections in a single day, pushing the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,04,58,251, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.
The active number of Covid-19 cases in the country is 509637 while 29548302 people have recovered from the virus so far.
So far, the world has reported 183,440,159 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic broke with 3,970,596 deaths. The US remains the worst-hit country, followed by India, Brazil, France and Russia.
