Srinagar: Eighteen new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported on Sunday morning in the Union Territory of Ladakh, taking the total number of active cases to 24 in the UT.

An official told that 18 new cases of COVID-19 were detected from Chuchot Yokma area of Ladakh today morning.

Rigzin Samphal, commissioner secretary health and medical education, Ladakh, said in a tweet that 18 new positive cases have been reported from Chuchot Yokma.

“18 new Positive Cases from Chuchot Yokma. Please Stay Home  and  respect the rule of Social Distancing,” he tweeted.

With 18 new cases, the total number of positive cases in Ladakh have gone up to 41 of which 17 have been cured and discharged while 6 are under treatment. Total active cases in the UT now stands 24 including today’s 18 new cases.

Out of the earlier 23 positive cases, 15 were from Leh and 8 from Kargil and out these 23 cases 17 — 13 from Leh and 4 from Kargil — were cured and 6 — 2 from Leh and 4 from Kargil — were undergoing treatment. (KNO)
