Chhari-Mubarak of lord Shiva led by Mahant Deependra Giri was taken to the historic Shankaracharya temple in Srinagar on Thursday for prayers on the occasion of ‘Haryali-Amavasya’ as per the Hindu customs and traditions.

People familiar with the development told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Puja was performed by chanting Vedic hymn.

They said that number of sadhus and pilgrims participated in the prayers.

They added that prayers were also offered for peace and prosperity of the country and Jammu and Kashmir. (KNO)
