Srinagar: After a leading pulmonologist and an orderly tested COVID-19 positive at CD Hospital which is one of the major testing centres in Kashmir Division, resident doctors accused senior doctors of barring them from COVID-19 self screening.

Few resident doctors who have been working tirelessly for treatment of COVID-19 patients at CD Hospital and Department of Microbiology at GMC Srinagar said that the senior faculty members of the department are harassing their junior counterparts on daily basis, reported local newswire Kashmir News Service.

The resident doctors complained that senior doctors screen themselves for COVID-19 on regular basis but don’t allow the resident doctors for the same.

The doctors accused senior doctors of putting not only their lives at risk but also of their.

A resident doctor told that they have been continuously performing duties without following any roaster in compliance with the guidelines issued by the government and as well as followed by the premier Institutions all over the country.

Dr. Salim Khan, nodal officer for the COVID-19 at the Government Medical College refuted these allegations, ” anyone can avail facility for COVID-19 screening. Who would stop doctors from screening for COVID-19.” (KNS)
