The government forces on Sunday late evening launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Tantraypora village of Palhalan area of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports reaching a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO), stated that a joint team of Army’s 29 Rashtriya Rifle (RR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), SOG Pattan and police launched CASO at Palhalan village of Pattan after receiving information about suspicious movement of militants in the area.

Army sources said that they have installed the lights in the area and started conducting door to door search operation.

However, no contact was established with the militants so far, they said, adding that the search was going on in the area—(KNO)
