Muzaffar Wani, father of Burhan Wani — popular Hizbul Mujahideen commander who was killed in 2016 — refuted the rumors regarding his resignation as a headmaster of a government school for not unfurling the Indian flag on 15 August.
In a video statement, he said: “You have asked me two things…one, that I have to hoist the flag and I have been warned. This is a rumour.”
He added that the rumours regarding his resignation are also incorrect. “There is no particular order issued on my name [for unfurling the Indian flag on 15 August] nor I wish to resign. Whatever is on social media is wrong and are rumours.”
While talking to The Kashmir Walla, Wani said that these are just baseless rumours and that “police should investigate who is spreading rumors”.
Meanwhile, a police official told The Kashmir Walla that they will investigate who is spreading rumours.
