Srinagar :Two Jaish-i Muhammad militants were killed, while as an army trooper was injured in a gunfight in Mouchwa area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.

A local news gathering agency Global News Service quoting unnamed police official reported that two militants were killed, while as an army personnel was also injured in the gunfight. He was shifted to 92 Base hospital for treatment, where his condition is said to be stable.

Identity of the killed militant is yet to be ascertained, the officer said.

Yesterday a joint team of Srinagar Police, Budgam Police and army’s 50RR launched a cordon and search operation in Mouchwa.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.

The operation was halted yesterday due to darkness and was resumed this morning with killing of two militants.(GNS)
