A 62 year old BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh, Ram Swaroop Sharma, was found dead at his residence in Delhi today.
Meanwhile according to a report, the police are investigating whether it was a case of suicide.
Sharma was found hanging in his room, Delhi Police PRO Chinmoy Biswal said. He was taken to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide, the police said, adding that no suicide note was found from the spot
Police officials said that Sharma’s personal assistant alerted the police control room around 7.45 am after the parliamentarian did not respond to knocks on his door. A police team was rushed to his residence immediately and forced open the door and found Sharma hanging.
“He was found hanging inside his room, which was locked from inside. No suicide note has been found,” the police said.
