Prominent Kashmiri Shia leader Ruhullah Mehdi on Wednesday hit out at the central government saying that ‘battle of narratives is not fought with UAPAs.’
Mehdi’s comments come in the wake of booking of students under UAPA following their celebrations over India’s defeat against Pakistan in the ongoing T-20 world cup.
Taking to his Twitter handle, the former legislator said, “Battle of narratives is not fought with UAPAs. You are making it known that you don’t have a narrative, you have failed on that end. You only have a refuge in UAPA and such laws.”
Refering to the abrogation of article-370 on 5 Aug, the National Conference leader said, “On that day of Aug 5, you stood up in arrogance and dictated us that we should live and behave, think and feel the way BJP & RSS wants us to. That’s not how civilisations work. Therefore, your failure in Kashmir commenced swiftly since that day.”
