An army trooper was injured as India and Pakistan’s armies exchanged fire in two sectors along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu on Thursday, reported a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS).

Unidentified official sources told GNS that Pakistan fired mortar shells in Mendhar and Balakote sectors. One trooper, Naik C B Pawar of 101 artillery regiment, suffered splinter injuries and was shifted to 150 Government Hospital Rajouri. “Indian Army gave befitting reply to the ceasefire violation,” they added.
