Srinagar: An army soldier died and a porter was injured after they slipped from a mountain in Uri, Baramulla, north Kashmir, said officials.
The officials added that the duo slipped near the forward post in Lachipora Boniyar, Uri, amid inclement weather.
After search operation, they said, the body of the 35-year-old soldier – NK Uttam Singh of army’s 11 MAHAR was recovered, while the porter was found injured, he was later shifted to the hospital. Senior Superintendent of Police, Abdul Qayoom told that the incident happened around 3:30 pm on Saturday.
