Addressing the police commemoration day at Zewan in Srinagar, the DGP as per a local news gathering agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “I met the family members of inspector Muhammad Ashraf and his daughter told me that she wants to keep the mission of her father alive.”  He said that police is committed to bringing normalcy in J-K and are working professionally on all fronts.

On Tuesday, DGP Singh visited the family of Inspector Mohammad Ashraf Bhat who was killed in a militant attack in Chandpora Bijbehara area of South Kashmir.

The DGP accompanied by IGP Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar, DIG South Kashmir Range Atul Goel and SSP Anantnag Sandeep Choudhary met the family members of the Police Officer. “They conveyed their heartfelt condolences and assured all help to the family. They prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.

Inspector Mohammad Ashraf Bhat was shot dead at his native place last evening.
