The State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) rescued 48 people who were stuck in Manasbal lake in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday evening.

Officials told a local news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 48 people were enjoying boat ride in Manasbal lake when suddenly gusty winds started to blow. However, Quick Reaction Teams (ORTs) started rescue operation and evacuated the people to safe locations, they said.

“There is a proper mechanism through which rescue operations are carried out. Today as there were gusty winds, our teams rescued people to safe places to avoid any untoward incidents” DySP SDRF Bashir Ahmad told KNO.
