Srinagar: After seven months, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has finally started its political activities in the Valley by starting a public outreach programme on Wednesday with its senior leader Engineer Nazir Ahmad Yatoo chairing series of meeting of party workers in Charar-e-Shareef.
A statement reads that Yatoo held a series of meeting today in several villages of Charar-e-Sharief assembly constituency of Budgam district, reported wire-service KNO.
The party workers from Pakherpora, Branpathri, Kanidajan, Phutlipora, Chalyan, Dodakathoo and other adjoining villages attended the meeting held at village Fresdub.
While speaking to party workers, PDP leader Er Yatoo stressed for strengthening the party at grassroots level and urged upon Halqa level workers to reach out to people and help them in redressing their grievances.
Yatoo said that he has opened a constituency level pubic grievance cell that is working 24×7 where people can register complaints. He added that nearly a half dozen phone numbers via voice call or SMS have been made available at the grievance cell following which the issues are being raised with the concerned authorities.
Engineer Yatoo urged upon district administration to address problems being faced by people in Charar-e-Shareef and Pakherpora blocks, saying that people in these blocks especially in Fresdub, Doud Khoutt, Branpathri villages are facing acute power scarcity.
He said that the roads are also in shambles and Kanidajan Chalyan road is completely in mess, appealing the authorities especially Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam to look into the matter.
Yatoo also urged Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu to waive off KCC loans of farmers in view of the damage caused to horticulture sector. (KNO)
