Following the kidnapping of the ambassador’s daughter, Afghanistan withdrew its ambassador and diplomats from Pakistan’s capital, quoting the Afghan foreign ministry Reuters reported on Sunday.
“The Afghan government recalled the ambassador and senior diplomats to Kabul until complete elimination of the security threats including the arrest and punishment of the perpetrators,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, as per the report.
As per the report, a Pakistani foreign office spokesperson did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
Unknown attackers briefly abducted the daughter of Afghanistan’s ambassador to Pakistan, leaving her with injuries and rope marks. Pakistani officials have said that they are investigating, according to the report of Reuters.
