An employee posted at Block Development Office (BDO) Langate in north Kashmir’s Handwara was arrested by a team of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe at a private hotel.

Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust (KNT) that ACB team led by DSP Sajad Ahmed trapped a contractual Technical Assistant namely Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh of Vilgam red handedly at a private hotel in Handwara.

The team recovered Rs 30,000 which the accused had received as bribe from one Shahnawaz Ahmed Dar of Pohruphth village to release the bill of Rs 2.81 lakhs of water pond at Watayen village which is still under construction.

A formal case against the accused has been registered and further investigation taken up. (KNT)
