Srinagar: Baisakhi, or Vaisakhi, the widely celebrated Sikh festival that marks the beginning of the solar year, was celebrated with religious fervor in parts of Kashmir.
Also known as the crop harvesting festival, the day commemorates the formation of the Khalsa Panth of warriors under the 10th Guru of Sikhs Guru Gobind Singh in 1699.
The celebrations, however, were curtailed for the last two years in view of the Covid pandemic. Today The Kashmir Walla attended the festival at Gurudwara Chatti Patshahi.
