Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Bank contract for facility management in Kashmir has been earned by a Haryana-based company – Tenon, an Integrated Security and Facility Management Service Provider, led by a former army official.
The company has been already operating security services in the region of Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir, a company statement to a news agency Kashmir Dot Com said.
The statement added: “Tenon has deployed more than 1100 highly trained housekeeping and FM staff in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir, who are known for their professional and tech-oriented integrated facility management solutions.” As per the company spokesperson, the 1,100 employed people are local residents of J-K.
The company was founded in 1995 by an Indian Army veteran, philanthropist, Major Manjit Rajain, who is the Group Chairman of the Tenon Group of companies.
Rajain was commissioned in the 11 Armoured Regiment of the Indian Army in 1984. During his seven years of service, he was actively engaged in operations in Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir. After his service in the Army, he joined the Police force and rose to the level of Assistant Commissioner of Police, stationed in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, Rajain was quoted saying, “We are delighted to welcome J&K Bank on board for our set of facility management services. FM entails multiple disciplines to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the work facility and its environment by the comprehensive integration of human resources, systems and technology.”
He further added, “We are well equipped to provide housekeeping services and gamut of full-range Hygiene, Engineering support and specialized services such as Building Engineering Operations & Critical Environment and O&M services. We also provide sustainable solutions to protect the workplace environment that delivers quality and efficiency without compromising on health and safety.”
The company’s Global CEO is Brigadier Rajan Oberoi, who was also in the Indian Army before joining. As per the company, “during his tenure with the Army, Brig. Oberoi was tasked with the responsibility to raise the first combat elements of the National Security Guards – The “Black Cats”, and subsequently went on to head this elite counter-terrorist outfit as their “Force Commander”.”
