After bagging its maiden seat in Srinagar, the Bharatiya Janata Party has won Kakapora in Pulwama, south Kashmir. The BJP’s Minha Latif bagged 365 votes against the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate, who got 326.
Earlier, Ajaz Hussain, who is the BJP’s National Vice President and Incharge West Bengal BJP Youth Wing, had won Srinagar’s Khanmoh-2 seat in the DDC polls.
As per the latest figures available with The Kashmir Walla, out of 197 seats in J-K, the Alliance has won three seats while BJP won one seat so far. The Alliance is leading on 76 seats, with the BJP leading on 50 seats. The independent candidates have won 7 seats while they are leading on 33 seats.
