Police in south Kashmir’s Kulgam solved a theft case by arresting one accused person involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen cattle worth lakhs from his possession.
In a statement issued here, a spokesperson said, “Police Station Kulgam received several complaints about cattle thefts within the jurisdiction of PS Kulgam. Accordingly, case FIR No. 27/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Kulgam and investigation was set into motion.”
Adding that during the course of investigation, a Special Investigation Team was constituted.
The Special Investigation Team headed by SHO PS Kulgam under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Kulgam by using all available means got success in recovering six cows and two calves from the cowshed of one accused person identified as Mashooq Ahmed Khanday @ Gasha son of Abdul Rehman Khanday resident of Tazipora Mohammad Pora Kulgam. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, the statement reads.
Further investigation in the case is going on and more arrests/recoveries are expected.
