Srinagar :A 45 year old Woman was among two killed and a Central Reserve Police Force officer injured in an ongoing gunfight in Batamaloo area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

A local news gathering agency Global News Service quoting an unnamed official reported
that, a lady identified as Kounsar Riyaz of Batamalo recieved bullet wound during cross firing, she was immediately shifted to Police hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

He further told that an unidentified militant has been killed in the ongoing gunfight and a Deputy commandant of CRPF also recieved bullet wound and was subsequently shifted to 92 Base hospital for treatment.

Earlier, According to the reports reaching a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Batamaloo.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off a gunfight .(GNS)
