Three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants have been killed in an overnight ongoing gunfight at the Rajpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.
“#PulwamaEncounterUpdate: 03 #terrorists affiliated with proscribed #terror outfit LeT killed. #Operation going on. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice,” said the police in a tweet.
Earlier, one army soldier of 44 RR was also killed in the initial exchange of firing, said an official source told a local news agency, Global News Agency (GNS).
A joint team of Police and army’s 44RR had launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
As the joint team approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering off the gunfight.
