Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that they have arrested three accused who had kidnapped and sexually assaulted a minor girl of Mansoor Colony in Bemina area of Srinagar city.

J-K Police in a press release said that they had received a complaint from a resident of Mansoor Colony, Bemina (name withheld) that his minor daughter has been abducted by unknown persons.

“A case FIR no 02/2022 was registered under relevant sections of law at PS Bemina,” police said.

Police said that immediate investigation was launched and the missing girl was recovered from Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) in Srinagar.

“During investigation, it came to fore that the minor girl was kidnapped by three persons and assaulted sexually. Raids were conducted in several locations and all the three accused who committed the crime were nabbed,” the police said.

J-K Police have identified the three accused as Basit Ali son of Ali Muhammad Dar resident of Fruit Mandi, Parimpora; Irfan Ahmad Najar son of Abdul Rashid resident of Fruit Mandi, Parimpora and Firdous Ahmad Ahnger son of Gulzar Ahmad resident of Beerwah, Budgam.

The police said that all the three accused have been arrested.

“The car that was used to commit this heinous crime has also been seized. Further investigation in this case is going-on,” the Police said.
