Prime Minister Tuesday said that the problem had remained in Kashmir since independence due to the 3-4 families that ruled it .
While addressing a National Cadet Corps (NCC) rally in Delhi, PM Modi said that nothing was done in the last 70 years to solve the problems of Kashmir. The 3-4 families that ruled Kashmir for 70 years did not work toward solving these problems but towards nurturing them, he said.
“The Kashmiri Pandits living there were evicted from their houses, but the government did nothing. Did we allow Kashmir to run like this? Therefore, we removed Section 370.” He added.
The PM said that now things will not be postponed, It will be hit and dealt with. “The youth want to change the country and change the situation. And so it has decided that things will not be postponed, it will be hit and It will be dealt with.” Modi said.
Slamming Pakistan, the prime minister said the neighbouring country has lost three wars, but continues to wage proxy wars against India.
Previous governments, he said, treated the problem as a law and order issue. “But even when out armies would ask for action, they would not go ahead,” he said, slamming the “inaction” of previous governments at the Centre.
