Two army men were killed and as many others injured in an alleged fratricidal firing at a camp in the Surankote area of Poonch district on Friday, official sources said.
Unnamed official sources told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS), that there was a clash between army men of 156 Territorial Army and one of them Sepoy Ibrar Ahmed died on the spot while three others including Sepoy Makan Singh, Naik Khalil Ahmed and Naik Imtiaz Ahmed were seriously injured.
Later, the injured were airlifted to an army hospital in Udhampur and one of them Naik Imtiaz Ahmed succumbed to the injuries. The condition of both the injured is also stated to be serious. More details, including the reason for the incident, are awaited. (GNS)
