As many as eighteen hand grenades recovered from multiple places in Poonch district, that were later destroyed in a controlled manner on Friday, officials said.

They said that the grenades were recovered in different cases including at Behri Rakh forest area near Chhotey Shah Badshah. “Twelve (grenades) recovered under FIR number 217/2020, two under FIR number 298/2022 and four under FIR number 82/2018.”

The recovered grenades, they said, were destroyed by a police party under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar Sheezan Bhat and SHO Mendhar Niaz Choudhary, alongside SOG Mendhar, in presence of Tehsildar Mendhar Gaurav Sharma.

“It was a clean operation and there was no injury to anyone or damage to any property,”  they further said. (GNS)
