Srinagar :The Jammu and Kashmir police Thursday arrested a person allegedly involved in molesting and sexually assaulting a minor girl in south Kashmir’s Kulgam.
An online news portal, The Kashmiriyat quoting an unnamed official reported that the Police Station in Devsar area of Kulgam received a complaint for assistance from a man stating that his daughter of 11 Years of age (name withheld) was confined wrongfully and thereof assaulted sexually by the person namely Abdul Rehman Laway, a resident of Malwan when she was alone at her home.
The Police registered an FIR No. 03/2021 U/S 342, 376 IPC, 3/4 POCSO Act in Police station Devsar and the investigation was set into motion.
The Jammu Kashmir Police soon took the accused person into detention at Police station Devsar and the minor girl after the completion of all medical formalaties has been handed over to her legal heirs.
The Locals of the area sought tough action against the accused.
