A middle-aged woman was injured after a vehicle she was travelling in met an accident at Chowkibal area of the district Kupwara, north Kashmir, this afternoon.

A local news agency, Global News Service (GNS), reported that the incident involving a Maruti Suzuki Alto driven by Fayaz Ahmad Shiekh resident of Zonareshi, occured near a local Army camp.

In the incident, one middle-aged woman Atiqa Begum wife of Abdul Jabbar Mir reident of Zonareshi received injuries.

The injured was evacuated to Sub District Hospital Kralpora for first aid treatment wherefrom she has been referred to District Hospital Handwara for advanced treatment, reports said.

Meanwhile, a police official has confirmed the incident. “A case has been registered in this regard and investigations will follow accordingly”, the official said. (GNS)
