A 32-year-old woman died by suicide after consuming some poisonous substance on late Sunday evening at her home in Rampora village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the women (name withheld) consumed some poisonous substance at her residence in Rampora village last night.

Soon after the incident she was immediately rushed to the district hospital Bandipora for treatment where from she was referred to a Srinagar hospital.

“However, she died this morning at Srinagar hospital. The reason for the suicide was not immediately known as we are investigating it,” he said.

The official said that the police have registered a case under relevant sections of the law and further investigation has been initiated in this regard—(KNO)
