Western army commander Lt Gen RP Singh reviewed security arrangements along the 198 kilometers long India-Pakistan international border in the Jammu region, reported Hindustan Times.
“The western army commander visited Tiger Division on Friday and Saturday. The army commander was briefed by Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Corps Commander Rising Star Corps and Maj Gen Vijay B Nair, GOC Tiger Division on the operational situation and security scenario in Jammu Sector,” said defence spokesman Lt Col Devender Anand.
The army commander praised troops deployed in the forward, areas after interacting with them, for maintaining a high degree of operational preparedness, added Lt Col Anand.
On 22 November, Border Security Force (BSF) troopers located an underground tunnel on the international border at Regal area in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. Six tunnels were discovered in the last four years along the Jammu border, reported The Indian Express.
