Leaders and workers of Jammu and Peoples Democratic Party on Friday tried to take out a procession in Srinagar to mark the unity among the different communities living in the region in the backdrop of the spurt of civilian killings but “were not allowed to move forward,” they said. Amid raising slogans, Hindu Muslim Sikh Itehad Zindabad Zindadabad (May the Hindu Muslim Sikh unity live long) and Khoon Kharaba Band Karo (stop bloodshed). They said that the current Lieutenant Governor-led government has failed to protect the lives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They further said the government is trying to cover its failure by not letting us stand with them [minorities]
