Srinagar: Two residential houses were gutted in a massive blaze that broke out in the Fateh Kadal area of downtown Srinagar.
One of the local residents in the area told The Kashmir Walla that a fire broke out in the three-storey residential house of Hilal Ahmad Dar at Namchabal area of Fateh Kadal around 8:00 pm, leaving as many as three families devastated.
As soon as the news of the fire incident spread, locals of the area, police, and the servicemen from the Fire and Emergency Department rushed to the spot to douse the flames, said the resident.
Officials told a local news agency that the efforts are on to douse the flames, adding that the cause of the fire is being ascertained.
