Srinagar: Two persons were killed while another sustained serious injuries after a vehicle they were traveling in skidded-off the road and plunged into a gorge at Bari area of Doda on late Monday night.
According to officials, a truck bearing registration number JK01K- 4667, on way to Doda from Bharat skidded-off the road and plunged into a deep gorge at Bari after the driver lost his control over the vehcile.
Soon after the incident took place, police team rushed to the spot. The team, along with locals, launched a rescue operation and managed to shift all the injured to district hospital Doda, where the doctors declared two of them brought dead.
The deceased have been identified as Mohinder Singh, 45, son of Panthla Ram from Bijarni Doda and Surjeet Singh, 48, son of Brij Lal from Gijoot Babore.
Later, the seriously injured Sat Pal son of Mast Ram, 50, from Duda Bharath was shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for advanced treatment. The police have registered a case in this regard and has started investigation into the matter, officials added. (KNO)
