Two terrifying earthquakes shook Kashmir valley as well as northern India’s states and parts of Pakistan on Friday night.
The two earthquakes took places within minutes of each other and caused panic among the residents in Kashmir region.
The first quake took place at 10:31 pm and had it’s epicenter in Fayzabad in Afghanistan, according to National Centre of Seismology.
It had the magnitude of 6.3 and a depth of 74 kms.
The second tremor followed three minutes later at 10:34 pm and had it’s epicenter 21 kms East-SouthEast of Amritsar Punjab. Its magnitude was 6.1 and had a shallow depth of 10 kms, the Center said in a tweet.
The earthquakes forced panicked residents to run out of their houses to seek shelter in open spaces.
There was no immediate report of casualties or damage to property in Kashmir region.
