A 16-year-old boy was injured after being stabbed by another boy in Villgam area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, official sources said.

They said that an altercation broke out between two boys while taking bath in Nallah Kehmil in Villgam this afternoon. During the exchange, a boy namely Areez Ahmad Ahangar (16) son of Javed Ahmad of Mirpora Trehgam stabbed, with some sharp object, the other boy namely Saqib Ashraf son of Mohammad Ashraf of Dingree Trehgam leaving him injured.

“The injured boy was immediately taken to SDH Kupwara for treatment, where his overall condition is said to be stable,” they said.

Confirming it, a police official said that they have registered a case in this regard for further investigation. (GNS)
