A female worker of a District Development Council (DDC) candidate, who won from Baramulla block constituency, “sustained injuries” after stones were thrown at her cavalcade in Hudpora locality of north-Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.

As per a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS), the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration, candidate Qurat-ul-Ain Bashir, a member of People’s Democratic Party, was approaching towards her native village along her workers when the cavalcade was pelted with stones near Hudpora area in the district.

In the incident, a few vehicles were damaged and a female worker, whose name was withheld, also sustained injuries. The injured worker was removed to a nearby health facility, where her condition is said to be stable.

Meanwhile a police official said that an FIR number 217/2020 under sections 147, 323, 336, 354-B, 506 of IPC in this matter and further investigations set in motion. (GNS)
